The Olive Tree The Lord Crewe Hotel, Front Street, Bamburgh, Northumberland - 01668 214 243The highest rated Restaurant in Bamburgh in my opinion is The Olive Tree which is part of the Lord Crewe Arms Hotel, located on Front Street. You might be a little surprised to find that in such a traditional Village, the restaurant I am recommending above all others serves modern Italian Cuisine. The restaurant is bright and modern and has lovely views of the Castle, with the menu living up to it's surroundings with a good choice of classic Italian dishes at a reasonable price.
The Mizen Head Hotel Lucker Road, Bamburgh, Northumberland
If spectacular seafood is your thing then you definitely need to head to the Mizen Head Hotel towards the outskirts of the Village. The menu leans heavily to fresh fish and seafood (and with the wealth of produce from the North Sea why wouldn't it?) but they do also have a decent range for those not fond of fish. The staff are friendly, the presentation of the food excellent and a good wine list to go with it - just remember to book ahead!
Blackett's of Bamburgh 2-3 Lucker Road, Bamburgh, Northumberland
This lovely traditional restaurant had built up a reputation for its excellent food and great service. Unfortunately it changed hands in 2010, but the new owners are working hard to maintain the high standards that their predecessors set for them. There was undoubtedly some disappointment locally when Blackett's changed hands, but it still remains a quality restaurant offering good local food. They also do Sunday lunches with a set price for two and three courses.
The Castle Hotel 7 Front Street, Bamburgh, Northumberland - 01668 214 616
If its a good Pub meal you're after then you can't really do much better than the Castle Hotel on Front Street. Excellent food, combined with friendly staff and possibly the best value menu in the Village make The Castle Hotel well worth a visit.
The Copper Kettle Tearooms 21 Front Street, Bamburgh NE69 7BW
This tearoom is widely recognised as one of the finest in the Country. There is a limit to the availability of food each day, as it is prepared freshly, and it can be enjoyed inside the tearoom or in their delightful courtyard. The building itself was a cottage, built around 1700 for the workforce of the Castle and has a stunning interior to discover. They serve teas and coffees, freshly made sandwiches, jacket potatoes, scones and cakes, all of which we can confirm are delicious!
