Your Guide to Food and Eating Out in Northumberland

Northumberland has a proud heritage of food production and you will find that most of the Restaurants, Pubs and Cafes in the area celebrate this by sourcing their produce locally. Northumberland is famous for several dishes and you will find them on many menus across the County, be it North Sea Craster Kippers, Ice Cream, Bamburgh Bangers or Salmon from it's great Rivers.

We are also one of the best Meat and Game producers in the Country, so whatever you choose to eat, if it's been sourced locally you can be sure it will be of excellent quality.

There is, of course, a vast choice of places to eat and drink in Northumberland, from Cafes, Pubs and Inns to Bistros and fine dining restaurants. Each of our Area Guides gives a full breakdown of all these establishments and also a chosen few of our favourites are highlighted and reviewed. We only highlight places that we enjoy eating in ourselves, so you can take these places as a personal recommendation.
